Production Process

And in case you lose the other sheet on production process:

Production Process

Listen to the track:

What initial ideas do you have?

Feelings?                  Visual images?

Read the Lyrics:

What meanings can you uncover?

Are there any hidden meanings?

Do you want your visual images to compliment the lyrics or do you want to subvert the meaning of the audio?

Do the lyrics inspire a narrative?

Research the artist

Research the Production Company and record label

Draft a storyboard

Consider practical issues such as actors/props/location/weather/special effects are these viable?

Finalise the storyboard

Make a production schedule

Make sure your production team know what they are doing: cameraperson/director/editor/production assistant

Make sure your production team know how to use the technology professionally! Digital cameras/tripods/microphones/editing software…

Shoot your footage

Edit using the software-this will be the longest process! Make sure it is of professional quality-lip-synching/quick cuts/camera held steady/good use of framing/range of camera angles/special effects…

Finalise your music video

Screen your video and get audience feedback on your work!
