Learning how to use iMovie

You'll notice on my checklist that I have added a column between your rough cut and audience testing. In order to complete the iMovie learning task/column, you will need to upload to your blog what you have learnt about using iMovie from completing your rough cut.
You will need to use the following headings in order to complete this effectively:
  • Importing audio and visuals
  • Using the keyboard to manipulate audio/visuals
  • Clipping and trimming
  • Using transitions
  • Layering audio and visuals
  • Including text
  • Advanced features of iMovie (including effects, using the map tools)
Please include screen shots to show your editing learning journey!
Work hard,

Costume ideas

You need to consider the costume for all of your actors/performers in your music video. Put images on to show what you are describing. Remember to consider fashion choices, colour choices and details right down to tiny pieces of jewellery. You must explain your costume choices as well as describing them. For example, if you want your lead character to change from a 'red dress in 1940s style' to a 'black dress, slashed at the shoulders' make sure you explain why the costume changes have been made.
Again, remember to refer back to your artist's music videos to investigate their costuming first.

Storyboarding

Now you have audience feedback from your rough cut you can use this to polish your ideas for your final music video storyboard.
Your storyboard needs to include images you would like to shoot, timings of how long you want each scene to last, camera work including angles and movements, such as panning or tracking, and transitions you want from each scene. I think at least 2 A3 pages need to be used in order to make it detailed enough.
Your storyboard should be so detailed that anyone who reads it could use it to film your video.
Work really hard now as we only have 5 weeks until the Christmas break and all of your filming and most of your editing will be complete by then.

Are you up to date on 15th November?

Are you up to date?
Well done to all of the students who are now up to date. Some of you are working very hard. You must all now get your rough cuts and audience testing complete before you can move onto the next phase.
